Czech Republic Joins Small Group Of Nations That Recognize Right To Arms
From Ammoland:
The move for the amendment started in 2015, after the terrorist attacks in Paris. By the middle of 2016, Czech President, Miloš Zeman was suggesting citizens should be armed “over the long term†and carry pistols in public, to defend against terrorist attacks.
Czech lawmakers approved an amendment that will enshrine the right to use a weapon in self-defense in the Czech constitution – a new right that will be included in the country’s Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms.
US Increases Arms Sales To Republic of China (Taiwan)
From The Federalist:
“If concluded, this proposed sale will contribute to the modernization of Taiwan’s howitzer fleet, strengthening its self-defense capabilities to meet current and future threats,†a State Department official told CNN.
Taiwan’s foreign ministry welcomed the deal, saying the proposed sale would help the island nation “maintain a rock-solid self-defense†and “regional peace and stability.â€
Another Reporter “Intimidated” From Shooting An AR-15
From Seven Days:
It is difficult to describe the impact — physical and personal — of that first shot. It felt like a meteor had struck the earth in front of me. A deep shock wave coursed through my body, the recoil rippling through my arms and right shoulder with astounding power. Being that close to an explosion of such magnitude — controlled and focused as it was — rattled me.
Four Capitol Officers Have Committed Suicide
What is going on? From The Hill:
A fourth law enforcement officer who responded to the Capitol on Jan. 6 has died by suicide, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) confirmed to The Hill on Monday.
A department spokesman said Officer Kyle DeFreytag, who had been with the department since November 2016, was found dead on July 10. Police confirmed DeFreytag, 26, was among a host of MPD officers who were sent to the Capitol in response to the riot.
Impeachment Drafted Against Potential ATF Director Chipman
From The Truth About Guns:
Republican in the House, however, are preparing in case the worst happens. They’ve drawn up a preemptive impeachment resolution should Senate Democrats manage to drag Chipman over the confirmation line.
Deep State Intelligence
From Chronicles Magazine:
It should be stressed that the American intelligence “community†is a scary misnomer, bearing in mind that we are talking of a gigantic apparat which is literally capable of surveilling every spoken and written word everywhere.
Tucker Carlson accused the FBI in his evening program on Fox News—three weeks before he accused the NSA of reading his emails—of setting up and fanning the disturbances on Capitol Hill on Jan. 6. There have been several dozen participants in those events—whom the state-controlled narrative insistently calls rioters or even insurrectionists—who have been shielded from any legal consequences, who have been spared criminal proceedings which are applied with gusto to others. This would be in accordance with the years-long practice of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to incite crimes and felonies, to encourage individuals to plot criminal acts, in order to arrest them—and then to claim credit for having prevented those acts….
The Black Rifle Coffee Company/NYT Incident
From Ammoland:
The Black Rifle Coffee Company (BRCC) has been a rising star in the conservative constellation. It has been becoming a center for conservative networking and interaction. There appears to be an effort to stop the rise, at least at the New York Times. A recent New York Times (NYT) Magazine article (14 July) has painted the BRCC executives as, at minimum, moderates who despise their base but see them like sheep to be fleeced.
Two Thirds of Americans Want 2020 Riots Investigated
From The Washington Examiner:
Overall, 66% said that they want the Black Lives Matter riots investigated. According to the survey, there were 574 violent clashes and over 2,000 police were injured. Just 49% said they support House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s partisan investigation of the Jan. 6 riots.
Gun Rights Groups File Amicus Briefs In NY Carry Case
From Ammoland:
Two national gun rights organizations—the Second Amendment Foundation and its grassroots sibling, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms—have filed separate amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a challenge of New York State’s ultra-restrictive carry laws by the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA)
Surge In Asian Americans Buying Guns Continues
From Bearing Arms:
After months of rising anti-Asian hatred, many others like Kim are having a change of heart about firearms. Tired of relying on bystanders for aid that sometimes never comes, more Asian Americans are bucking entrenched cultural perceptions of guns and overcoming language barriers to help fuel a spike in U.S. gun ownership. While there is no official data on firearm purchases by Asian Americans, a survey by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) indicated that Asian Americans bought 42% more firearms and ammunition in the first six months of 2020 than they did in the same timeframe the year before. At Jimmy’s Sportshop in Mineola, N.Y., where guns and pepper spray have been flying off the shelves since the pandemic, gun purchases by Asian buyers have surged 100% due to recent fears of attacks, according to Jimmy Gong and Jay Zeng, the shop’s Chinese-American owners.
