The Hidden Agenda is a great way for business professionals to carry concealed in the office. From the outside it looks like a normal day planner, but it is able to carry some of the larger automatics and revolvers.
New Law a Reason to Visit Oklahoma?
A new law allows out-of-state permit holders to carry in Oklahoma. According to Guns.com contributor Dabney Bailey:
“Now, the only thing missing is an actual reason to visit Oklahoma.”
With a statement like that she must be from Texas.
Bill Allows CCW Permits to Under-21s in the Military
Florida, the vanguard of pro gun legislation, has proposed to allow concealed carry permits to anyone in the military regardless of age, as long as they are qualified.
From Guns.com:
The bill, officially known as House Bill 463, was authored by Florida Carry, a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots organization dedicated to advancing the fundamental civil right of all Floridians to keep and bear arms for self-defense.
“Those who defend our country overseas should be able to defend themselves and their families at home. There have been too many incidences of violence against our troops who have just returned from overseas deployments and found themselves defenseless at home” the group said in a press release.

I have created a very simple website to announce On Target Training Firearm classes, which will help us share what we are doing and expedite registration.
Here is a preview for 2012:
 March 31st – Introduction to Handguns
A course which will include the firearms and ammunition. This is for people who have never fired before, or for people who want to try a variety of handguns and calibers, and get more comfortable. It is ideal for spouses and youth who want to learn in a comfortable no-stress environment.
April 21 – Defensive Pistol Skills
This one-day seminar will cover the following skills sets vital for self-defense, concealed carry, and action pistol shooting events (IDPA or USPSA): rapid drawing from a holster and target acquisition, quick placement of multiple hits on a target, rapid placement of hits on multiple targets, use of cover – moving to cover and firing from cover, use of movement – while drawing, moving to cover, and while firing, and techniques for smooth and rapid reloads. We will end the course with shooting mini-scenarios applicable to self-defense situations or an action pistol match, in which all of the skills practiced during the day will be utilized.
June 2 – Practical Carbine
This course is designed for rifle students interested in mastering accuracy and speed on both paper and reactive steel targerts using a variety of positions and movement.
Drills range from focusing on traditional rifle positions and accuracy to firing on the move, firing on steel from distance behind cover, adverse firing positions, decision making and reactive drills.
Students at all skill levels benefit from taking this course to improve their accuracy and speed. The day will end with challenging field courses designed to use the skills practiced during the day, and will make use of the rolling wooded terrain on this property.
States Introduce Bills Requiring No Permit For CCW
From USA Today:
States that have been or are considering bills in current legislative sessions include Colorado, Iowa, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota and Virgina, according to the NRA.
South Dakota could be the fifth state to join the ranks of permit-less carry states. Lawmakers last week passed a measure allowing anyone 18 and older with a valid state driver’s license to carry a concealed weapon, as long as they don’t have a background that would otherwise prohibit them from getting a permit. The bill awaits action from Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard.
Cato Report on Defensive Use of Firearms
The Cato Institute just released a study on the defensive use of firearms entitled Tough Targets.
What would be the effect of depriving ordinary, law-abiding citizens from keeping arms for self-defense? One result seems certain: the law-abiding would be at a distinct disadvantage should criminals acquire guns from underground markets. After all, it is simply not possible for police officers to get to every scene where they are urgently needed.

“If you carry a gun, you need to recognize that the reason you do so is for personal protection, not to transform yourself into a would-be super hero. Carrying a gun does not give you a license to get involved in situations that are none of your business. It does not give you the authority of a police officer. Your job is to stay safe and keep your loved ones safe.
It makes good sense as a general principle to avoid becoming inextricably involved in confrontations where you are not directly affected in the first place. You take a risk when you involve yourself in other people’s arguments. This is not to say that there will never be a situation that is worth the risk, but that is a personal decision.”

Pocket and Ankle Carry

“Although I can carry comfortably on the waist, inside or out, I carry a Double Action Only (DAO) pistol in my front pants pocket most of the time. A good pocket holster will break up the outline of the gun and stabilize it so that when you make the draw it isn’t out of position. The holster should have some friction material on it so that it stays in place when the draw is made. Drawing both together wastes time, as you will have to strip the holster from the gun in order to use it.
Spare ammunition is carried in the opposite side pocket to balance the load. Nothing else should be carried in these pockets, as under stress, you could just as easily draw your keys as your gun or magazine.”

“I guess that headline isn’t 100 percent true, because I really do love guns.
The point I’m trying to make here is that many people forget that the firearm is only a tool. It’s simply a means to an end. I carry a gun because it’s one of the most effective tools that I’m aware of for self-defense.
I carry a gun because I’ve made the personal decision that the person who is 100 percent responsible for the safety of my loved ones is named Tim Schmidt.
I carry a gun because I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if I was ever in a situation where I couldn’t protect my wife and kids.
I carry a gun because it is one of the many personal protection layers that I’ve created for myself.
I carry a gun because while I expect and hope for good and perfect outcomes, I understand that evil will always exist in our world.
I carry a gun because my daughter and my wife each believe that no matter what happens, her daddy and her husband will always be able to protect her.
I carry a gun because I want to teach my kids that it will someday be their responsibility to protect their loved ones.
I carry a gun because I LOVE life.
I carry a gun because I am a responsibly armed citizen.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — “Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night.
Officers said that shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money.
Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens.
Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported.
Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery.
3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots
no charges filed agenst shooter, badguy went to prison.”
Kahr to Introduce CM40 in Spring of 2012

The CM4043 is chambered in a .40 S&W caliber, has a 3.0″ barrel and an overall length of 5.47″, with a height of 4.0″. The pistol weighs in at 15.8 ounces plus 1.9 ounces for the stainless steel magazine. Differences between the CM models and PM models include: the CM4043 has a conventional rifled barrel instead of the match grade polygonal barrel on Kahr’s PM series; the CM slide stop lever is MIM (metal-injection-molded) instead of machined; the CM series slide has fewer machining operations and uses simple engraved markings instead of roll marking; and finally, the CM series are shipped with one magazine instead of two magazines.
