NYT Wants To Blame Increased Shootings On Glock “Switches”

From The New York Times:

These makeshift machine guns — able to inflict indiscriminate carnage in seconds — are helping fuel the national epidemic of gun violence, making shootings increasingly lethal, creating added risks for bystanders and leaving survivors more grievously wounded, according to law enforcement authorities and medical workers.

In this case, budget means quality at a fair and affordable price. There may be a feature or two you wish each gun had, but remember, these are commonly found under $500, so it’s hard to complain too much.

One of the evil, naughty, and nasty things that Biden-Harris have been after are the mysterious and haunting ghost guns. There happens to be a bill to outlaw these mythical devices. Last month Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01) introduced H.R. 3088: Untraceable Firearms Act of 2021.

Congress Wants AR/AK Pistols As NFA Items

From Guns.com:

Describing them as “concealable assault-style rifles,” a group of Democrats in Congress called on President Biden Wednesday to regulate semi-auto rifle-caliber pistols under the National Firearms Act.

In a letter penned by Democrat U.S. Reps. Val B. Demings (FL-10), Joe Neguse (CO-02), Ed Perlmutter and Mike Thompson (CA-05), then signed by roughly half their caucus, contends that AR- and AK-style pistols should be covered under the NFA, a move that would require $200 tax stamps, registration, and layers of ATF red tape.

Beginner Pistols In .22 LR

From Guns.com:

Several manufacturers make .22s with the same basic (or very similar) dimensions as their larger caliber handguns. This is an awesome way to transition to more firepower in the future, and you’ll already be familiar with the mechanics, trigger, etc. of a particular brand of gun. Occasionally, because the frame is so similar, you can share a good holster between the two.

ATF Re-classifies Honey Badger Pistol As Short-barreled Rifle

From Firearms Policy Coalition:

ATF has once again unlawfully and unconstitutionally exceeded its authority and changed the law by issuing a new determination that is devoid of logic and reason, contains no explanation as to the manner in which it arrived at its conclusion, conflicts with its prior determinations, and embodies the very essence of “arbitrary and capricious”.
After examining a sample Q Honey Badger Pistol, the ATF’s Firearms and Ammunition Technology Division (FATD) concluded that “the objective features of the Honey Badger firearm, configured with the subject stabilizing brace, indicate the firearm is designed and intended to be fired from the shoulder.” FATD further concluded that it is a SBR as defined by the National Firearms Act (NFA) and Gun Control Act (GCA). Yet, ATF does not explain how it arrived at this conclusion other than vague generalizations that the firearm was “designed” to be fired from the shoulder and by virtue of its barrel length meeting the definition of a SBR.

Police Aren’t Required To Protect You

From The Truth About Guns:

Of course powerful, wealthy, politically-connected elites are exceptions, routinely obtaining the rare and coveted unrestricted handgun carry licenses that are unavailable to the average citizen.
And criminals don’t obey handgun licensing rules or any other state or city law pertaining to firearms, so they don’t care how many laws the city enacts. This hasn’t changed and never will.
But it’s deeply troubling to believe New York City’s harsh, even despotic handgun licensing scheme continues to escape constitutional scrutiny, a point Halbrook makes at the outset of his article, when he states,

“‘Under New York law, it is a crime to possess a firearm’, held the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in U.S. vs. Sanchez-Villar (2004). This ruling was based on the state’s ban on the possession of an unlicensed handgun. This prohibition did not offend the Second Amendment, said this ruling, because ‘the right to possess a gun is clearly not a fundamental right.’ Later rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court—D.C v. Heller (2008) and McDonald v. Chicago (2010—begged to differ. . . . But the Second Circuit must not have gotten the memo. . . .”

Choosing Defensive Ammo

From The Truth About Guns:

Ideally, self-defense ammunition will have a blend of effective penetration and expansion. It should penetrate to sufficient depth to compromise vital structures, but also expand enough to dump its energy into the target and come to a stop.

Naroh N1 Review

From The Truth About Guns:

When I heard about the Naroh N1, I wasn’t expecting it to be as small as it was. Note the photo above. That’s my GLOCK 42 in .380 ACP on top of the Naroh N1 9X19. I swapped my G43 with the G42 because the G43 was just a little too big to boot carry.  I can boot-carry the N1.

Although the N1 is Naroh’s first 100% in-house-designed firearm, the same folks have been wholesale suppliers for other people’s gun parts for years now. They already have the machine capability, the in-house design team, and several patents.
