Feds Attack Gun Owners As “Extremists” In Another Leaked Document

Federal law enforcement lumped together conservative positions on guns and immigration with violent extremism in guidance given to financial institutions to help them monitor people’s transactions, a congressional investigation found.
The House Judiciary Committee and its Weaponization Subcommittee released a report Wednesday detailing the efforts by federal agencies and large financial institutions to surveil Americans’ private financial transactions in the wake of the January 6 protests.
NICS Continues To Fail, Time To Abolish It

The Department of Homeland Security did not consistently comply with NICS requirements from July 2019 to June 2021. FBI NICS examiners rely on NICS data to determine whether a person is eligible to purchase a firearm. However, DHS components did not submit the data to DOJ, as the United States Code and Code of Federal Regulations require.
Gov’t Says It Can Shoot Drones

Part of the language of the measure allows authorities to address potential risks posed by wayward or “possibly hostile†unmanned air systems, commonly referred to as drones, and, if thought dangerous, to allow for members of the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and Justice to seize control of the craft or “Use reasonable force, if necessary, to disable, damage, or destroy the unmanned aircraft system or unmanned aircraft.â€
DHS Probed Georgia’s Voting System

Georgian IT specialists traced 10 such scans back to a DHS IP address. DHS officials confirmed the attacks came from an unnamed contractor attached to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia, a part of DHS.
FLETCO officials have refuse to identify the contractor and the agency did not respond to a DCNF inquiry about the intrusions.

On Thursday, a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reporter claimed that the Department of Homeland Security demanded access to her mobile phones when she was crossing the border at the Los Angeles airport.
“I wanted to share a troubling experience I had with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in the hopes it may help you protect your private information,†Maria Abi-Habib, a WSJ journalist focused on ISIS and Al Qaeda wrote in a post on Facebook. (Abi-Habib confirmed to Motherboard that the Facebook account was hers, but declined to comment further.)
DHS Records Were Altered Before 2009 Christmas Day Attack

Just before that Christmas Day attack, in early November 2009, I was ordered by my superiors at the Department of Homeland Security to delete or modify several hundred records of individuals tied to designated Islamist terror groups like Hamas from the important federal database, the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS). These types of records are the basis for any ability to “connect dots.â€Â Every day, DHS Customs and Border Protection officers watch entering and exiting many individuals associated with known terrorist affiliations, then look for patterns. Enforcing a political scrubbing of records of Muslims greatly affected our ability to do that. Even worse, going forward, my colleagues and I were prohibited from entering pertinent information into the database.

Obama Admin Tells Border Patrol Not To Arrest Drunk Drivers

Obtained by Judicial Watch this week, the notice is titled “Enforcement Options With Alcohol-Impaired Drivers†and directs the 4,000-plus U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Tucson, Arizona sector to “release†individuals under the influence and “allow them to go on their way.†The document acknowledges that this feels counter-intuitive for Border Patrol agents, but eases concerns by answering a hypothetical question for the officers who have sworn to uphold the law: “If you allow this driver to continue down the road and they kill someone, aren’t you liable?†The answer is no, according to the new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memo. “There is no legal requirement for a Border Patrol agent to intervene in a state crime, including DUI,†the order says, adding that “therefore there is generally no liability that will attach to the agent or agency for failing to act in this situation.â€
This is another example that police and/or the federal government are not responsible for your safety even though they will tell you otherwise in different venues.

A joint bulletin issued in early August by the Department of Homeland Security and FBI warns state and local law enforcement agencies to look out for people in possession of “large amounts†of weapons and ammunition, describing the discovery of “unusual amounts†of weapons as a potential indicator of criminal or terrorist activity.

Homeland Security Harassing Civil Pilots

The whole episode lasted about 2 hours. Â While the officers who questioned me were not overtly or personally threatening, the situation was intimidating and threatening. Â I was never told details of the “profile”, so I don’t know how to prevent this from happening again, aside from talking to federal employees at all times while flying. Â I am concerned that DEA and DHS now have files on me. Â This distresses me GREATLY. Â I am equally concerned that my plane’s tail number is now suspicious in the eyes of law enforcement.
Every day thousands of illegal immigrants flood over the border and Muslim terrorists plot bombings in Boston, but the DHS and Border Patrol have to harass civilian pilots. It is amazing how far the government will go, to not actually do their job.
