Western States Need To Take Their Land Back From The Feds
From The Federalist:
Tuesday’s legal effort underscores a decades-long tension between western states and the federal government, as they wrestle over control of vast land areas. For years, locals have sought permission to utilize the land for harvesting timber, oil, and gas, grazing animals, and pursuing other opportunities, but Washington bureaucrats have blocked their efforts. The lawsuit filed by Utah raises issue with “unappropriated” land held by the Bureau of Land Management, noting that 34 percent of “total state territory” is unappropriated land under federal control.

From The Truth About Guns:
There’s a credit union in Idaho that’s been feeling some heat lately, and thanks to feedback, they’re seeing the light. The Idaho Central Credit Union felt the heat of TTAG’s story yesterday about their member agreement that precluded ammo and gun purchases with ICCU accounts as of a few days earlier.
Idaho Will Not Do Business With Companies That Discriminate Against Guns
From The Truth About Guns:
Senate Bill 1291 was introduced in the state Senate earlier this week. The measure would prohibit public contracts with individuals or companies that are boycotting those that engage in or support the manufacture, distribution, sale or use of firearms, and would also require companies that contract with the state to disclose if their policies discriminate against the firearms industry.

Woman Arrested For Taking Kids To Park
From Breitbart:
An Idaho mother who was arrested in April after taking her children to the playground spoke with Breitbart News at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she shared her story, saying draconian rules implemented in response to the Chinese coronavirus are pitting “good citizens against good officers.â€
Gun Rights Supporters Using Anti-gun Playbook
From NPR:
There’s been a lot of talk about guns from national politicians, but little action. The real fight is playing out at the state level. Pruett’s group, for example, has pushed Idaho to get rid of nearly all of its regulations.

Idaho Residents Face Down Feds Over Second Amendment
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 25/Aug/2015 07:00
From The Tenth Amendment Center:
Although the federal government likes to gives off the impression that its authority is supreme, all it takes is a small group of folks saying no to them to show that’s not the case. ABreitbart report elaborates on how resistance effectively worked in Idaho:
On August 6, residents and Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler lined up outside the Priest River, Idaho, home of veteran John Arnold to prevent the Veterans Administration (VA) from taking away his guns…
Roughly “100 people†showed up, including Sheriff Wheeler. Those assembled waved an American flag, a Gadsen flag, and sang patriotic songs. Wheeler said: “I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho. This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold’s rights weren’t going to be breached.â€
I wonder why I haven’t seen this on the national news? Maybe because the media doesn’t want The People to get the idea that they can effectively nullify federal overreach just by saying “no”.
Protest In Idaho Over Possible Gun Confiscation
From AP:
Idaho Republican state Rep. Heather Scott of Blanchard said the Veteran Affairs office has sent a letter to John Arnold of Priest River warning him that he cannot possess or purchase firearms.
“I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho,” Wheeler said. “This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold’s rights weren’t going to be breached.”
Corps of Engineers Gun Ban Overturned in Idaho
From Mountain States Legal Foundation:
An Idaho woman who is barred from carrying a functional firearm for self-defense when she visits federal recreational facilities prevailed today with the ruling of an Idaho federal district court that the federal government ban on firearms violates the Second Amendment. Elizabeth E. Morris of Nez Perce County is licensed to carry a concealed weapon, regularly carries a concealed weapon, and often seeks to recreate on lands managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Because Corps of Engineers regulations ban functional firearms, even while camped in tents, Ms. Morris is subject to criminal prosecution if she attempts to exercise her Second Amendment rights. Alan C. Baker, a firearms instructor and a resident of Idaho’s Latah County, is a co-plaintiff in the suit, which was filed in August 2013 in Idaho federal district court. The Corps of Engineers did not respond to requests from attorneys for Ms. Morris and Mr. Baker, Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF), seeking an exemption from its firearm ban, a ban that has not changed since the landmarkHeller ruling.
Idaho to Repeal CCW Exemption for Politicians
From MagicValley.com:
Idaho is the only state to allow any person in an elected position — from school board member to state senator — to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
That rule came under scrutiny when former state Rep. Mark Patterson, R-Boise, was allowed to carry a concealed weapon even after his permit was revoked last year.
Idaho Invites Firearm Industry
From Washington Times:
The move by PNW Arms was like a signal flare to business and political leaders in the town of 800 people, who were in the process of trying to determine what industry would be best to pursue.
Potlatch, they decided, would go from timber town to gun town. It would try to lure firearms and ammunition makers, and plans also called for hunting-themed housing and retail development.
