GOA Files Red Flag Against Sen. Schumer

From Gun Owners of America:

Saul Alinsky may have written his Rules for Radicals to give leftists an advantage in the battle for America’s soul, but that doesn’t mean that the rules aren’t tactically wise.  On Friday, Gun Owners of America (GOA) decided to put into play several of those rules when it asked [if] Sen. Chuck Schumer [would be] “red-flagged” as a potentially dangerous person.

Socialists Are Pro Gun

From Harper’s Magazine:

Owning a gun for any reason other than hunting or target practice—uses that account for only 21 percent of U.S. gun ownership—is an inherently political act. To draw a pistol and choose to shoot someone who has violated your safety or sense of safety is to arrogate to yourself the right to decide whether someone ought to live or die. Merely carrying a pistol for self-protection means arrogating to yourself the same right.

Guns In Emergencies

From The Truth About Guns:

What, then, do you do when those non-gun owners — especially those who may have expressed anti-gun opinions in the past — come to you asking to borrow a gun?
How do you handle the people who recognize you as the “gun owner” in their lives… the people who now want you to loan them some iron so they can keep their families safe?  What do you say if you’re asked?

Gun Rights Supporters Using Anti-gun Playbook

From NPR:

There’s been a lot of talk about guns from national politicians, but little action. The real fight is playing out at the state level. Pruett’s group, for example, has pushed Idaho to get rid of nearly all of its regulations.

Mayor Adds Gun Control To Coronavirus Bill

From The Daily Caller:

Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen’s declaration of emergency came on Friday and is related to the coronavirus, which has caused many states to declare emergencies as the virus continues to spread. The mayor’s executive order gives Frank Feinen “extraordinary powers,” including the ban of the sale of firearms and ammunition, among others restrictions including a ban on the sale of alcohol, and the sale or giving away of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products, according to Edgar County Watchdogs, a local government accountability nonprofit.

Arms Export Reforms Upheld

From The Truth About Guns:

When the state attorneys general sued to stop the rules from taking effect over unfounded concerns with 3D printing and a conflation of export controls and domestic gun control laws, NSSF led the fight to allow the final rules to take effect by moving to intervene in the case. Our brief focused on the scope of the remedy (injunction) the court might enter, should the court determine that one was warranted on the merits.

9mm vs 5.7

From Ammo to Go:

Sometimes in the shooting industry, a new cartridge will skyrocket the sale of a specific rifle or handgun. On occasion, the opposite occurs. A new weapon will breathe life into a previously forgotten (or at least, neglected) cartridge. This is the case with the new pistol from Ruger, called the “Ruger 57.” As buzz builds and ownership of the pistol picks up, we thought a 5.7×28 vs. 9mm caliber comparison would be a good way to get a feel for what the round is capable of.

Why 2A Supporters Are So Rigid

From The Federalist:

I’ve seen my friends and colleagues on the Left side of the gun control debate dumbfounded at why Second Amendment advocates don’t seem to budge on their views after mass shootings. So I thought I would try my hand at explaining this phenomenon in the hopes that maybe more will be inclined to have a better conversation about guns and the Second Amendment in America. There are several reasons 2A advocates aren’t running to your side of the argument, and it might not be the ones you think.

Biden Goes Full Gun Confiscation

From The Federalist:

What’s more, the man accurately references comments Biden made at rally on March 2 while accepting the endorsement of Beto O’Rourke. Biden said, “I’m going to guarantee this is not the last you’ve seen of this guy,” referring to O’Rourke. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”
How else can one interpret that except as an endorsement of gun confiscation? After all, it was O’Rourke who in a September debate boasted, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

NJ Security Guard Arrested For Legal Gun

From Reason:

Every petty excuse for the police to bother you is a loose trigger for further injustice. Roosevelt Twyne, a 25-year-old security guard who is African American, is learning this in New Jersey.
Pulled over last month on his way home from work in Roselle Park, New Jersey, for having tinted windows on his car, Twyne informed the police he had his work-related weapon in his possession. The police arrested him, claiming he was carrying both an illegally transported gun and illegal hollow-point ammunition.

O’Rourke’s own presidential ambitions crashed and burned last year shortly after he emphatically announced in a primary debate, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”
