National Hearing Org Supports Suppressor Reform

From Guns.com:

In a letter sent at the end of May, the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, vouching support for “evidence-based practices in the delivery of audiovestibular care,” endorsed the Hearing Protection Act (H.R. 152/S.401) to improve access to suppressors. Holding that at least 7.5 million Americans hunt with a firearm each year and another 19 million regularly participate in target shooting, the organization recognized that “Firearm users are at high risk of developing NIHL (noise-induced hearing loss).”

Judge: Most Guns Can Be Banned Without Violating Second Amendment

From Bearing Arms:

Unlike the broader category of handguns at issue in Heller and Bruen, the record developed here demonstrates that assault weapons and LCMs (large capacity magazines) are suboptimal for self-defense. A set of statutes that bans only a subset of each category of firearms that possess new and dangerous characteristics that make them susceptible to abuse by nonlaw abiding citizens wielding them for unlawful purposes imposes a comparable burden to the regulations on Bowie knives, percussion cap pistols, and other dangerous or concealed weapons, particularly when “there remain more than one thousand firearms that Connecticut residents can purchase for responsible and lawful uses like self-defense, home defense, and other lawful purposes such as hunting and sport shooting.”

One Million Gun Sales Per Month For The Last Four Years

From The Truth About Guns:

First, the NSSF’s adjusted number is really a minimum. It doesn’t account for sales of multiple firearms in on transaction and it doesn’t include sales in states that don’t require background checks for carry permit holders (never mind private sales).

Article Claims Founders Wouldn’t Have Rebelled Against The Government They Created

From Ammoland:

That newly created narrative included the supposed purpose of arming citizens in order to enable them to rebel against the very constitutional government which the Founders were establishing with its checks and balances. This despite the Founders having defined treason as taking up arms against that very government.

But this glaring contradiction persisted and found a home within the halls of the Supreme Court, whose collective wisdom may have suffered from the influx of unreported gifts by billionaires to a number of justices weighing in on the question.

Trust In Military At 20 Year Low

From The Federalist:

Conducted by Gallup from June 1-22, the survey found that over the past five years, an increasing percentage of Americans are now “less likely” to voice “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the U.S. military. According to the poll, 74 percent of Americans expressed such sentiments as recently as 2018. That number has since declined to 60 percent, marking the lowest level since 1997.

New Zealand Gun Owners’ Data Leaked

From Bearing Arms:

On July 26, the New Zealand Herald reported that the country’s new Firearms Safety Authority had compromised the personal information of more than 100 gun owners. The paper explained,

In an email sent shortly after noon on Wednesday, seen by the Herald, Auckland Central Police District firearms staff emailed more than 100 gun owners to warn them their listed firearms licence address may not be up to date.

Their email addresses, in many cases including their first and last names, were visible in the cc field, rather than hidden in the bcc section.

Biden Admin To Pull Funding From Schools With Hunting Programs

From Bearing Arms:

According to federal guidance circulated among hunting education groups and shared with Fox News Digital, the Department of Education determined that, under the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) passed last year, school hunting and archery classes are precluded from receiving federal funding. The interpretation could impact millions of American children enrolled in such programs.

Europeans Want More Gun Rights

From Bearing Arms:

“Civilian gun ownership can make authoritarian drifts very difficult because it gives people the ability to resist,” Andrea Favaro told Euronews.

He is part of Firearms United, a pan-European firearms lobby, which claims to bring together more than 100 million law-abiding gun owners in the region.

It’s a movement which wants to loosen gun control laws in Europe, bringing them de facto more into line with US gun laws.

Actual Gun Ownership May Be Closer To 60%!

From The Washington Examiner and The Reload:

At the lowest end, it’s likely that at least 40% of Americans own guns, according to a groundbreaking study of those who lie to pollsters about firearms.

The study from Rutgers University’s New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center is spreading like wildfire in the industry, which for years has tried to accurately estimate United States gun ownership and determine why polls show support for gun control, but then there is little follow through when legislation is proposed.

Texas Car Owners Shoot Thieves

From Bearing Arms:

This isn’t the first defensive gun use we’ve covered recently involving nearly identical situations. In fact, it’s not even the first story of this kind from San Antonio. A similar incident took place back in April when the owner of a stolen truck used his Apple AirTag to track down its location, only to be fired upon by the suspected car thief.

Another similar situation played out in Harris County, Texas just hours before the defensive gun use in San Antonio, where authorities say another suspected car thief was shot and killed by the rightful owner early Thursday morning.

From Syracuse.com:

A Cayuga County man was sentenced to prison Friday for having an unregistered and short-barreled AR-15-style rifle, federal prosecutors said.

FPC Tells Supreme Court Chevron Deference Is Unconstitutional

From Ammoland:

“Chevron violates Article III by transferring from the judiciary to the executive the ultimate interpretative authority to say what the law is,” argues the brief. “It violates Article I by incentivizing Congress to abdicate its legislative duties and delegate legislative authority to the executive. As a result, Chevron accumulates legislative, executive, and judicial powers in a single branch of government—which the Founders considered the very definition of tyranny.”

DC Police Open Office In Texas

From Texas Nationalist Movement:

The recent announcement by the U.S. Capitol Police to open regional field offices across the country, including in Texas, is a stark reminder of the overreach of federal power and the urgent need for Texas independence. The Texas Nationalist Movement strongly condemns this blatant disregard for state sovereignty.

From The Federalist:

I will proffer an alternative option that may appease both factions: Disarm the FBI and force it to partner with local law enforcement agencies for any investigative and enforcement activities.
