Biden Cracks Down On Ammo Imports During A Shortage

From The Truth About Guns:

On Friday, August 20th, Joe Biden signed an executive order blocking the importation of all Russian-made firearms and ammo. The move was ostensibly made to punish the Russians for the imprisonment and attempted murder of dissident Alexey Navalny.

So in the middle of a foreign policy debacle in Afghanistan, Biden has decided to sanction Russia America’s gun owners in response to a Russian opposition party figure coming down with an acute case of nerve agent poisoning. This violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention — which occurred a year ago — apparently wasn’t serious enough, though, for the Biden administration to want to stand in the way of Russian gas exports by a Putin friend and former Stasi agent.

ATF Tries To Redefine “Firearm”

The proposed rule, the “Definition of Frame or Receiver and Identification of Firearms” was introduced in May and signed by Attorney General Merrick Garland. Public comments on the rule closed Thursday.

It would amend the Code of Federal Regulations, including the term “firearm” in order to regulate firearm kits, and amend the term “gunsmith” to clarify that gunsmiths must mark unlicensed guns — effectively making the individual the manufacturer. It would implement regulations on nearly all portions of a firearm.

The Politicians Continue To Play Checkers In Foreign Policy

From SOFREP:

Incredibly, Secretary of State Blinken said that Chinese influence in Afghanistan could be a positive thing if China sought a “peaceful resolution of the conflict,” and a “truly representative and inclusive” government. Yet, China doesn’t have a government that could be called “representative and inclusive” by anyone. So, why would they work towards one in Afghanistan?

Yet, it’s not unlikely that the Taliban held meetings with the Chinese intelligence service that could have aided in Taliban planning and operations.

Anyone who understands diplomacy and espionage can do the math and see that the Taliban are solidly backed by China. This could have emboldened them to take back Afghanistan in true blitzkrieg style as they did.

US Government Conspires With Big Tech To Spy On Americans

From The Federalist:

Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan demanded records and a briefing from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Thursday over the agency’s proposed use of third-party firms to spy on Americans.

“The Obama-Biden FBI spied on President Trump’s campaign in 2016, and now the Biden-Harris DHS is looking to use third-party contractors to circumvent the Constitution and spy on American citizens,” Jordan told The Federalist. “Every American, regardless of their political affiliation, should be weary of these types of attacks on our civil liberties.”

Chaos In Afghanistan Could Be A Positive For Gun Rights At Home

From The Truth About Guns:

Alan M. Gottlieb, the Second Amendment Foundation’s founder and executive vice president, says that out of the swirling chaos may come a silver lining for American gun owners.

“The silver lining might be that there’s such a mess going on, they won’t have time to put through their anti-gun agenda, because right now they have so much other stuff on their plate,” Gottlieb said Sunday night on Armed American Radio.

The Coming FFL Crackdown

From NRA-ILA:

According to the president and his ever-obliging attorney general, a “crackdown” is coming on America’s federally licensed gun dealers (FFLs), with “zero tolerance” for allegedly illegal behavior. While no decent person – least of all the NRA or its members – supports arming dangerous criminals, a recent case from Texas provides disturbing hints as to what this policy might look like in practice.

Biden Targets FFLs

From The Truth About Guns:

The Justice Department will announce a new “zero tolerance” policy to revoke the federal licenses of firearms dealers who willfully violate gun laws, senior administration officials said. That includes actions such as selling a gun to someone who is prohibited from possessing one, failing to do a background check on gun purchasers or falsifying records.

48 Senators Send Letter To Biden About Pistol Braces

From The Federalist:

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, all of the Republicans in the Senate, except for Rob Portman of Ohio and Susan Collins of Maine, demand that the Biden administration “correct the mistake” and walk back the proposal which the legislators allege was justified on claims”without evidence” that people simply wanted to avoid paying for NFA items.

Bill Proposed To Ban DIY Guns

From Bearing Arms:

One of the evil, naughty, and nasty things that Biden-Harris have been after are the mysterious and haunting ghost guns. There happens to be a bill to outlaw these mythical devices. Last month Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01) introduced H.R. 3088: Untraceable Firearms Act of 2021.

Time To Remove SBRs From The NFA

From The Truth About Guns:

As the Biden administration gears up to pass fresh guidance on pistol stabilizing braces, I humbly suggest that this is precisely the time to get working on legislation to remove SBRs — short barreled rifles — from the purview of the 1934 National Firearms Act.

Arguments and assertions from the DOJ / ATF / Biden administration related to pistol braces only strengthen the case that SBRs shouldn’t be subject to special scrutiny as compared to rifles with 16-inch or longer barrels.
