Wyoming Targets Anti-Gun Banking With New Law

From Bearing Arms:

Laws like these need to be replicated throughout the land. Since the federal government has done little to offer up the proper protections to industry members from being discriminated against, freedom oriented states are stepping up to the plate and swinging for civil rights. How Operation Chokepoint has not been subject to a RICO level scrutiny escapes me, as well as the continued chill since the formal dissolution of the program. The fact of the matter is these practices are illegal, as they are creating different classes of people and businesses, refusing to serve “those people”.

Washington To Ban Firearms At Protests And State Capitol

From Crosscut:

Over opposition from Republicans and gun-rights activists, both houses of the Legislature have passed a ban on weapons within 250 feet of protests or on the Capitol campus in Olympia. Backers say empowering police to remove or arrest armed onlookers addresses widespread complaints from demonstrators and reduces a bona fide safety risk.

After a year of protests in Portland and Seattle about police brutality and defunding the police Washington State now wants to give the police more power? The entire Northwest is schizophrenic. They don’t know what they want.

Nevada Op-Ed On The Racist History Of Gun Laws

From The Nevada Independent:

The last several years of racial and cultural tension have had a predictable effect on firearm ownership that is certain to complicate progressives’ political calculus regarding gun control: More Americans are buying more firearms than ever, and minorities are increasingly joining the ranks of first-time gun buyers

The explosion of firearm ownership among Black Americans, especially, is something that would make some of the civil rights activists of decades-past beam with pride—and, with good reason: Historically, gun control has negatively affected disadvantaged communities to a greater extent than white middle-America, and gun rights were once integral to the expansion of civil rights.

How To “Third Rail” Gun Control

From The Truth About Guns:

A Congressman must run for re-election every two years. You have to make a two-year investment in educating a targeted Dem about the danger of their gun control advocacy. Even if you fail to knock her out in one election, you’ll have a second opportunity just two years later. Continue the education process through the next two years and two years after that. You will have made her gun control support a constant thorn in her side. That will be a rail she won’t want to touch.

Kansas Lowers Age For Concealed Carry

From Bearing Arms:

On a 30 to 8 vote Wednesday, the Senate approved a bill to lower the minimum age to carry a concealed weapon from 21 to 18. It would also make valid in Kansas any concealed carry licenses from other states.

Biden Says Bill Of Rights Are Not Absolute

From National Review:

There are already tens of thousands of laws governing individual gun ownership in the United States. There are more laws restricting this guaranteed individual right than any other in the Constitution. The notion that gun ownership is “absolute” — or anything in the proximity of absolute – is preposterous beyond words. Imagine your freedom of speech being contingent on an FBI background check? (Though maybe we shouldn’t give progressives any ideas.)

Biden Gets “Mostly False” Rating From Politifact

From HotAir:

PolitiFact focuses only on one of those falsehoods — the hoary “gun show loophole” that never existed in the first place. Democratic politicians have tried making the same claim for years if not decades, but it’s a flat-out lie:

“These bills, one, require background checks for anyone purchasing a gun at a gun show or an online sale,” Biden said at the April 8 event. “Most people don’t know it, you walk into a store and you buy a gun, you have a background check. But you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want, and no background check.”

When it comes to background checks for gun purchases, what matters is who sells the guns, not where the guns are sold — and when a federally licensed seller is a vendor at a gun show, they have to run a background check just as they would if they were back at a bricks-and-mortar gun store.

Gun Bans Are The Goal

From Ammoland:

That admitting these are but “initial actions,” and that there’s plenty more citizen disarmament waiting in the wings confirms what alert gun owners have known since Sen. Thomas Dodd, author of the Gun Control Act of 1968, publicly wished for â€œabolishing all guns” and to “destroy them all,” and since Brady Campaign predecessor Handgun Control  Inc.’s Nelson “Pete” Shields revealed in 1976 the plot to â€œtake one step at a time [to] make possession of all handguns  â€¦ totally illegal.”

Oppose ATF Nominee At All Costs

From Bearing Arms:

Chipman is squarely in the “ban and arrest our way to safety” camp, as evidenced by comments he made in an “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit last year. Chipman was up front about the fact that he believes it should be a crime for anyone to sell a gun without going through a commercial firearms dealer, arguing that even opening up the NICS system to allow private sellers access isn’t enough.

In that same Reddit threat, Chipman also said that he believes that, of all the current gun laws out there, one that needs greater enforcement is against those who “carry a gun illegally.” While many folks may nod their head in agreement, as reporters like Emily Bazelon of Slate have pointed out, places with the type of restrictive carry laws that Chipman embraces are arresting and convicting a disproportionate number of young black men for the non-violent, possessory offense. As Bazelon wrote in 2019:

ATF Looking To Change Definition Of Gun

From Breitbart:

According to the Wall Street Journal, the ATF is framing the scenario as an expansion of what can be categorized as a “firearm,” a move that “could subject ghost guns to the same regulations as other firearms.”

The ATF’s April Langwell defended the agency’s look into new regulations for such guns, saying, “ATF routinely meets with our regulated industry participants to discuss matters of mutual concern. One of those meetings is scheduled for this week, and ATF looks forward to continuing this important dialogue.”

Ruger MAX-9

From The Truth About Guns:

With an onboard capacity of 10+1 rounds flush fit and 12+1 rounds extended, Ruger’s new MAX-9 takes aim at the incredibly hot market for micro-compact pistols with double-digit capacities. Equipped with a tritium and fiber optic front sight and an optics-ready slide at an MSRP of just $499 (less on Brownells), the MAX-9 undercuts the competition on features for the dollar.

Gun Control Is War On Poor

From National Interest:

Gun owners would have two choices: either surrender their property to the government or pay a $200 tax to keep each item, which will be added to a national registry. For many people, this would quickly turn into thousands of dollars paid to keep their own property. A hunter, for example, with just one AR-15 and four standard capacity magazines would owe the federal government $1,000. Failure to comply could mean up to ten years in federal prison and a $10,000 fine.

3D Printing And DRM

From Ammoland:

If companies get into 3D printing, you can be sure they will do everything in their power to shut down sites that violate their patents on their IP. It will destroy the 3D printing community. Corporations would usurp the small tight knit group of designs like CTRL Pew and Ivan The Troll.

Another drawback of DRM is that a lot of it is going to an “online-only” model. This model is standard with video games. The game reaches out to a remote server to validate the copy of the software. If a gamer wants to play a single-player game offline, they can’t. The game requires an internet connection to run.

With gun files, this means every time to print something a server knows, and it isn’t too much of a jump to assume the government knows as well. This situation would defeat the whole purpose of 3D printing gun files. Using 3D printers to print gun files is to defeat gun control and not feed into it.
