NY Targets Gun Makers For Liability

From Politico:

New York lawmakers are mounting an effort to open gun manufacturers and distributors up to civil liability suits.

“It would be the first bill of its kind in the country, and would be incredibly important to reestablish norms of gun industry accountability,” said David Pucino, an attorney at the Giffords Law Center, a national gun control advocacy group.

Texas Law Could Oust Bank of America and Citi From State

From Bloomberg:

The legislation, Senate Bill 19, would block government entities from contracting with banks and other financial services providers that have policies that restrict business with the firearms industry. Under the bill, companies with 10 employees or more seeking a government contract worth at least $100,000 would have to verify in writing that they do not have a policy or directive that “discrimina

Wyoming Targets Anti-Gun Banking With New Law

From Bearing Arms:

Laws like these need to be replicated throughout the land. Since the federal government has done little to offer up the proper protections to industry members from being discriminated against, freedom oriented states are stepping up to the plate and swinging for civil rights. How Operation Chokepoint has not been subject to a RICO level scrutiny escapes me, as well as the continued chill since the formal dissolution of the program. The fact of the matter is these practices are illegal, as they are creating different classes of people and businesses, refusing to serve “those people”.

The Lies About Guns vs Voting

From Reason:

Sen. Alex Padilla (D–Calif.) recently claimed that it is easier in some states to acquire a rifle than it is to cast a ballot. This false claim ignores the reality of gun control in America. Despite widespread misconceptions held by gun control advocates, guns are the most heavily regulated consumer good in the country. Millions of Americans are federally prohibited from not only possessing a gun for even a fleeting moment, but also from possessing even a single bullet.

Guns Stores Prepare For Sales Increase After Stimulus Payments

From The Post Millennial:

“Stimulus check equals gun money,” said Brandon Wexler, owner of Wex Gunworks in Delray Beach, Florida.”I do anticipate that when people get a stimulus check they will spend it on firearms, accessories, high-capacity magazines and ammo, if they can get it.”

Whether it be the rise in civil unrest throughout our nation’s cities, the Jan 6 attack on the US Capitol, or simply just for pleasure, Americans flocked to gun stores after receiving the first round of stimulus checks in 2020.

Biden To Reverse Fair Banking Rule?

From Guns.com:

“There’s no reason for today’s action by career officials in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency other than bending to political pressure from big banks and stalling or eliminating the rule will not stop the efforts of those of us who support it from continuing these efforts,”  said U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer R-N.D., who sits on the Senate Banking Committee. “The Biden Administration should use this opportunity to demonstrate leadership and not just be puppets for the large financial interests who back them.”

NY State Senator Wants To Ban Sale And Manufacture Of Firearms

From Ammoland:

Specifically, the bill would amend New York State’s public nuisance law to allow the state to prosecute the “sale or manufacture of products” as an activity considered to illegally or unreasonably “create or maintain a condition which endangers the safety or health of a considerable number of persons.”
While the language doesn’t mention firearms specifically, Myrie made clear in comments to the New York Daily News that guns are exactly the “products” he has in mind. “Every illegal gun on the street was a legally purchased gun at one time,” he said. Myrie continued: “In the wake of a gun violence epidemic plaguing the city, state, and nation, we have a duty to hold all responsible parties accountable.”

Gun Dealer On Buying Guns and Ammo

From The Truth About Guns:

Demand is still outstripping supply on many different fronts on firearms and ammunition. Vendors have flat out told dealers that there’s nothing to ship and they should expect shelves for a while. Larger dealers get filled first, smaller dealers get the short end of the stick since they are, well, smaller accounts.
We’re seeing $500-650/thousand on 9mm FMJ 115gr online among the dealers that have anything left. Even Palmetto State Armory is picked clean on 9mm as of this writing, save for some defensive ammo at about $40 for a 20-round box.
