Unserious Gun Proposals
From National Review:
The usual ghouls were on their usual soapboxes before the blood had even dried. “Background checks!†they cried. Federal authorities then revealed that the killer already had been denied during an earlier attempt to purchase a firearm; our background-check system works when we work it. Which we do not always do: Sometimes, sales are approved when they should not be, as the result of delays in the background-check system; when the authorities become aware that such a sale has been wrongly approved, they make no effort at all to recover the firearms. It just is not done. Why? Bureaucratic inertia.

Professors Lisa Moore, Jennifer Glass and Mia Carter of UT-Austin stayed stum when asked about two years of campus carry, not to mention the conspicuous lack of blood on campus, stifled speech or blubbering students.
Killers Need To Fear Return Fire
From Reuters:
More El Paso residents than ever before crowded into a class over the weekend to become certified to carry a concealed gun in public in Texas after this month’s mass shooting at a Walmart store that killed 22 people.
The vast majority of people at the classes were Hispanic; El Paso is a predominantly Latino city. Police say the accused gunman deliberately attacked Hispanics in the Walmart.

ATF/FBI Still Have Questions To Answer About Waco
From The Hill:
Twenty-five years ago today, FBI tanks smashed into the ramshackle home of the Branch Davidians outside Waco, Texas. After the FBI collapsed much of the building atop the residents, a fire erupted and 76 corpses were dug out of the rubble. Unfortunately, the American political system and media have never faced the lessons from that tragic 1993 day.
