The Shifting Demographics Of Gun Owners

From Axios:

That more people of color are exercising their Second Amendment rights could spell trouble for Democrats, who already suffered losses among these demographics in key battleground states in 2020.

Culture Promotes Freedom, Not Laws Or Judges

From Open Source Defense:

It’s easy to point to moments where the Supreme Court spectacularly discarded people’s rights — Plessy v. FergusonBuck v. BellWickard v. FilburnKorematsu v. U.S., etc. etc. — as the thing that allowed a terrible chain of events. But did they allow the events, or were they caused by those same events? In the case of, say, Korematsu, you had a country that was willing to force everyone on the west coast with Japanese ancestry into camps. Would that country have been stopped by a Supreme Court that in the midst of it all piped up to say, “Hey everyone, you can’t imprison people for being Japanese, ok?” And more to the point, would such an environment produce a Supreme Court that would say that?

Democrats Moving The Wrong Way On Guns

From The Federalist:

Among the unpopular policy positions dragging down his presidency is his myopic focus on gun control instead of crime control. The Biden White House has pursued the most far-reaching and radical gun control agenda of any president, previously naming a gun control lobbyist to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) whose nomination was defeated when not even all Senate Democrats could support the nominee.

Texas Police Dept Refuses To Return Seized Firearms

From Bearing Arms:

China Grove, Texas is probably best known for being the “sleepy little town down around San Antone” immortalized by the Doobie Brothers in the 1970s, but the south Texas burg of about 1,200 people is making local headlines for the wrong reasons these days. According to one woman, the China Grove police improperly seized several firearms belonging to her and her husband almost four years ago, and despite the fact that no charges have ever been filed against the couple, they’ve been unable to get their property returned to them.

Will California Require Every Gun Part To Be Registered?

From Bearing Arms:

Assemblyman Mike Gibson, who represents South Los Angeles, introduced AB 1621 to regulate the gun kits. If the bill passes, the sale of individual parts used to make the ghost guns would be banned.

Don’t Use Anti Gun Language

From Ammoland:

There are homemade firearms.  There might even be DIY guns.  But there are no such things as ghost guns.  We don’t use the term “assault weapon” in place of a semi-auto rifle, do we?  No, we quit that nonsense.  We even try to resist “high capacity” for normal magazines, as we know a Glock 17 was designed to house 17 rounds of ammunition in the standard magazine, not 10 or 7 or less.

Anti Gunner Learns Wrong Lesson From Subway Shooting

From NY Daily News:

The permissive public carry championed by today’s gun rights advocatesis a sharp break from all this. It is not rooted in text, history or tradition but is a recent development in American history, one that only gained ground in the late 20th century. Such laws have not made Americans safer, but have led to more gun deaths and injuries. It’s little coincidence that states with stronger gun regulations are also those with fewer gun deaths.

That last line is in bold because Cornell is actually using the shooting in NY to argue there should be more gun regulation even though the shooting he is so “upset” about happened in one of the most strict areas of the country when is comes to guns.

Gun Manufacturers Want Mexican Lawsuit Dismissed

From Reuters:

A U.S. judge on Tuesday questioned whether allowing Mexico to sue U.S. gun manufacturers for facilitating the trafficking of weapons to drug cartels would open the door to other countries suing them, including Russia over firearms used by Ukrainians in the ongoing war.

AZ Senate Candidate Blake Masters Says Gun Control Is Dead

From Real Clear Politics:

Finally, he concluded that gun control is obsolete – “I think it’s dead politically. I think it’s dead technologically.” Despite the efforts of the president, Masters believes that the accelerating pace of innovation has forever eclipsed regulators who seek to rein in ghost guns. “Because as the stuff gets easier, anyone’s just going to be able to print a gun. And pretty soon it won’t take 30 minutes, and pretty soon it won’t be hard, and I regard that as a welcome development.”

Senator Lankford Introduces Pistol Brace Protection Act

From Bearing Arms:

Senator James Lankford (R-OK) is standing up for Oklahomans’ Second Amendment right to own and use pistol braces without burdensome regulation, registration, and taxation. Last week, Lankford introduced the Pistol Brace Protection Act. Lankford’s bill would gut an upcoming final rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) by exempting pistol braces from regulation under the National Firearms Act (NFA). The bill eliminates subjective standards that exist in federal law that have allowed ATF to reclassify firearms under the NFA, and guarantees that law-abiding gun owners will not have to register, destroy, or surrender their pistol brace.

Gun Rights Community Needs More Group Defense When Attacked

From Ammoland:

If anything, when Everytown comes after a Jimenez Arms, or when a Letitia James wants to shut down a pro-Second Amendment group, the entire Second Amendment community needs to stand up and be counted. Anti-Second Amendment extremists need to be made to understand that messing with one gun owner – or one part of the Second Amendment community – will generate a response from all of us.

Liberal Law Prof Refutes Biden’s Cannon Claim

From Jonathan Turley:

President Joe Biden returned this week to his claim that the Second Amendment was originally understood and applied to ban the private ownership of cannons. It is not just an embarrassing repetition of a false claim but threatens to reduce his own gun control measures to little more than cannon fodder on a historical perspective.

Biden Bungles Anti-Gun Presser By Again Referring to “AFT”

From Guns.com:

Highlighting the pending new ATF “Frame or Receiver” Final Rule, in which Biden compared couches to 80-percent lowers before saying the latter would now require a serial number and background check. He also tripled down on oft-rebuked past claims that you “could not buy a cannon” during the time of the Founding Fathers, grossly misrepresented the recent settlement with the insurance companies representing the former Remington Outdoors, and repeatedly referred to the ATF as the “AFT” despite delivering prepared statements.
