UK Now Wants To Ban Knives

Despite a host of legal restrictions on firearms and knives, not to mention a society that increasingly resembles a panopticon in the thoroughness of the surveillance to which it’s subjected, the U.K.’s crime rates remain stubbornly resistant to reduction. Last year, London’s murder rate briefly overtook that of New York City—a feat likely to be repeated as crime continues its decline in the U.S.—and the latest U.K. figures show an increase in violent crimes committed with both guns and knives.
So, do right-thinking Britons propose loosening the country’s tight rules regarding self-defense so that people can more easily deal with two-legged predators? Hell, no. Instead, they want to ban pointy knives. Yes, really—churchmen, physicians, judges, and lawmakers want to tightly restrict or completely outlaw the possession of knives with sharp ends.
FBI: Crime Falls While Gun Ownership Rises

Looking at a 10-year trend, the numbers of violent crimes were down a full 9 percent from 2009 through 2018. The rate shows a more dramatic drop: “There were an estimated 368.9 violent crimes per 100,000 inhabitants in 2018, a rate that fell 3.9 percent when compared with the 2017 estimated violent crime rate and dropped 14.6 percent from the 2009 estimate.â€

Walmart Refuses To Stop Selling Guns After Protests

ATF Nominee Does Not Support More Restrictions

In this week’s two-hour hearing, U.S. Sens. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calf., and Mike Lee, R-Utah, interchangeably grilled Canterbury about his stance on a federal ban on “assault weapons†and their associated magazines, as well as universal background checks, handgun waiting periods and other questions of gun policy. Canterbury responded that, while the FOP supported such gun control measures in the 1990s, the lobby group presently does not espouse such changes to current law. When pressed on his personal feelings on such restrictive concepts, Canterbury said he is “a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and I believe in the right to bear arms.â€
When To Introduce Guns

What I’ve learned over the years teaching my own kids about the subject is that it’s different for every child. Through trial and error, I found that certain lessons help more than others. Dems Block Measure To Reduce Gun Regulations

The move, an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act — the must-pass funding bill for the military — was agreed to in a Democrat-heavy 225 to 205 vote. Introduced by U.S. Rep. Norma Torres, D-CA, the proposal would block President Trump’s nearly complete transfer of several weapons categories from export licensing controlled by the State Department to the more relaxed purview of the Commerce Department.
The three categories of the State Department’s United States Munitions List — those dealing with small arms including firearms, close assault weapons, combat shotguns and ammunition and ordnance — are set to transfer to the Commerce Control List, which, as previously reported, could benefit domestic gun and ammo makers looking to sell more overseas.

His bill would reportedly provide some narrow exceptions for “certain current and former law enforcement personnel†and others while outlawing the more than 1 million currently legal suppressors in the country.

The miscalculation sparked a multi-year decline that has reached the courthouse steps in Delaware, where United filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday.

Fundraiser For Women’s Group: DC Project

The DC Project will host a fundraising festival this weekend in Burnett, Texas to raise money for an upcoming trip to Washington, D.C. The group’s goal is to bring women from all 50 states to meet with legislators and personalize the Second Amendment.
The festival at the Reveille Peak Ranch will include live fire demos, a banquet, live and silent auctions and a 3-gun match. Celeb shooters will also make an appearance with Jerry Miculek, Tig Tiegen, Dianna and Ryan Muller, David Smith aka Shakey Dave, and more scheduled to shoot the match.
L.A. Times: Mandate Gun Storage

A study published this week in JAMA Pediatrics reinforces a sobering reality: that far too many minors are gaining access to firearms and either committing suicide or accidentally killing themselves — or others. Last year more than 4,500 children age 17 or younger were killed or wounded with guns. While suicide statistics for 2018 aren’t available, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported a sharp rise in recent youth suicides, about half of which historically have involved a gun.
How is this gun storage law going to be enforced unless the police can do random searches of your home to make sure you are following the law?
Firearms Tax Holiday

The beginning of fall signals not only the return of the school year but also the beginning of hunting season. To prepare for many hours to be spent hunting with a gun in a duck blind or a deer stand, hunters need to equip themselves with ammunition, various outdoor gear, and maybe even a new firearm.
That is why some states have tried, are currently trying, or now have a Second Amendment tax holiday where people can purchase hunting supplies, ammunition, and firearms without the burden of sales tax. It’s reasonable to assume many hunters may spend somewhere around $500-$1,000 on supplies to start a hunting season so the opportunity to save $50-$70 (depending on the state) on those purchases translates to significant savings for many individuals and families.
