Body Armor Ban Challenged BY FPC

The fact that some states like New York ban the private ownership of body armor basically tells me just one thing—they want to be able to kill you without you having any protection to avoid that. Such laws are absurd, making anyone who owns body armor for any reason a criminal.
How Will Chevron Affect The ATF?

The Supreme Court’s decision to scrap the Chevron Doctrine doesn’t automatically mean that the ATF’s rules on unfinished frames and receivers, pistol stabilizing braces, and who is “engaged in the business” of dealing firearms will be thrown out by the federal judiciary, but it definitely makes it more difficult for the DOJ to defend the rules going forward.
No longer can the agency reliy on judges giving the agency the benefit of the doubt when it come to interpreting supposedly ambiguous language. Unless the ATF is strictly adhering to the underlying statute when crafting its rules (which has not been the case in recent years) the odds are good that the rule will fall.
California Now Requires Sales Code For Gun Stores
This new law is a workaround to the Fourth Amendment by requiring companies to “tattle” on their customers to the government.

As reported earlier, a California law went into effect today that mandates credit card networks like Visa and Mastercard to assign special retail codes to gun stores, enabling banks to track their sales. Advocates believe this measure could help identify suspicious purchases and prevent mass shootings.
Democrat Tries To “Own Republicans” By Promoting Black Gun Ownership

Normally, gun control involves taking guns away from people, but one Texas lawmaker is endorsing a plan to push for a gun ban by giving AR-15s away. State Rep. Ron Reynolds told Houston news anchor Isiah Carey that “desperate times call for desperate measures”, which is why he’s all in favor of a plan to give Black men semi-automatic rifles; convinced that conservative Caucasians will be so freaked out that they’ll almost immediately fall in line behind a gun ban.
NY Comptroller Says ShotSpotter A Failure

ShotSpotter has failed to live up to its promises in another major US City, according to the Comptroller of New York City. The Comptroller’s Office recommended that the City not renew its contract with the David Chipman-linked company when it expires in December.
Upcoming SCOTUS Gun Cases

For months now, the Court has held on to a half-dozen other cases that all deal with prohibited persons; from Range v. Garland (whether someone can be permanently prohibited from possessing a firearm after a non-violent misdemeanor conviction punishable by more than a year in prison) to U.S. v. Daniels (whether federal law prohibiting the possession of firearms by someone who “is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance” violates the Second Amendment). After the release of the Rahimi decision, the Court is almost certainly going to address these cases through what’s known as a GVR: grant cert, vacate the previous decision, and remand the case back to the lower courts for further review in light of Rahimi‘s holding.
SCOTUS Bump Stock Opinion Breakdown

Clarence Thomas writes for a 6-3 majority, and the overriding theme of his opinion is that this is not a hard case. Under the NFA, a machine gun is “any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger”. Bump stocks are simply not that. That’s obvious if and only if you know how a bump stock works. Thomas explains that by explaining how an AR-15’s fire control group works.

Gun Groups Want Repeal Of Post Office Ban

A New Strategy For Gun Rights

In my previous article, I talked about how the migration of just 2% of New York gun owners to Pennsylvania can change presidential elections. What if a similar strategy of concentrated fire is replicated nationwide? In other words, what if Second Amendment advocates do what Free Staters have done nationally?
There is an advantage that gun owners have: there are a LOT more of us – close to 100 million – than there are committed libertarians. Since the last presidential election, around 22.3 million people have become first-time gun owners. That gives us a lot of power nationally although our power within states varies. Some states have a higher concentration of us resulting in “wasted votes,” while others have too few of us resulting in our rights getting trampled.
SCOTUS Nixes Bump Stock Ban

In his opinion for the majority, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote what most people who understand and are familiar with firearms have been thinking all along.
“Semi-automatic firearms, which require shooters to reengage the trigger for every shot, are not machine guns,” Justice Thomas wrote. “This case asks whether a bump stock—an accessory for a semi-automatic rifle that allows the shooter to rapidly reengage the trigger (and therefore achieve a high rate of fire)—converts the rifle into a ‘machine gun.’ We hold that it does not.
Does Hunter Biden Deserve A Pardon?

But there’s a case to be made that, whatever other crimes Trump may accuse the Biden family of committing, he should announce he’ll pardon Hunter Biden on the gun charges if he’s reelected in November.
There are a substantial number of gun owners (me included) who think that at least one of the statutes Hunter Biden was convicted of violating is an unconstitutional infringement on our Second Amendment rights. Should “unlawful” users of drugs be barred from possessing firearms? Or rather, can they be prohibited from exercising their Second Amendment rights simply because they use illegal drugs?
