Who And What Are The Militia?

From Security Studies Group:

The militia is the vehicle for invoking the power to dissolve the government by force, which is a power the citizenry retains inalienably per the Declaration of Independence. Likewise, the militia is one of the final vehicles for protecting an upholding a state the citizens continue to approve of against insurrection or invasion. The citizen is the officer of the state that holds the final say on both of these matters, and therefore the militia properly belongs to them.

Fact Checkers Lied About Rittenhouse Case

From The Federalist:

In the case against Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse, the left-wing corporate fact-checkers did what they do best and made up their own facts, specifically about the then-17-year-old’s right to carry a rifle.

Rittenhouse Was The Militia In Action

From The Federalist:

Our executive vice president at Security Studies Group, Dr. Brad Patty, wrote about the history and utility of the militia last year. This part is particularly relevant to the many unsubstantiated claims about citizens taking action. Much more likely is when citizens come under attack by terrorists, insurrectionists, rioters, arsonists, or looters.

In that case, citizens are very likely to be the only force capable of responding in defense of the common peace and lawful order, at least for a short time. In the recent crisis, however, we have seen several occasions when the police vanished from afflicted areas of cities for a whole night or longer. Citizens who are left to themselves by a failure of state and local power have every right to defend the common peace and lawful order against those who would destroy it.

Left Prefers Feelings Over Science On Guns

From The Federalist:

Whenever states have eliminated “proper cause” requirements, gun-control advocates have predicted disaster, with blood-in-the-streets and irresponsible behavior by permit holders. But in state after state, concealed handgun permit holders have proved them wrong by being extremely law-abiding. Indeed, none of the right-to-carry states have even held a legislative hearing, let alone held a vote, to move back to requiring “proper cause.”

Cincinnati School Teaching Gun Safety Class

From Bearing Arms:

Students in one Cincinnati charter school are learning those basics and going beyond, thanks to a decision to introduce real gun safety education to students. The DAMPE Community School uses Dance, Art, Music, and Physical Education as integral parts of the curriculum, and school principal Tonjarene Bronston has incorporated gun safety instruction into the school’s P.E. classes, telling a local television station that she and other educators can’t ignore the reality that many of their students are growing up in neighborhoods where violence is a common event.

NRA Degraded Members In Leaked Audio

From The Truth About Guns:

NPR reporter Tim Mak got his hands on 2.5 hours of recordings and has made some of the details public. The contents of the tapes reveal what Marion Hammer and Wayne LaPierre thought of their fellow NRA members at the time and how they feared being embarrassed by the membership.

Mak has released selected clips of the recorded conversations. When the group considered cancelling the upcoming NRA convention that year, Marion Hammer had this to say . . .

“If you pull down the exhibit hall, that’s not going to leave anything for the media except the members meeting, and you’re going to have the wackos … with all kinds of crazy resolutions, with all kinds of, of dressing like a bunch of hillbillies and idiots. And, and it’s gonna, it’s gonna be the worst thing you can imagine.”

From The Truth About Guns:

Citigroup took a key step to restart its public-finance operations in Texas by submitting a letter last month verifying its compliance with the new law.

Remington Moves Headquarters To Georgia

From Ammoland:

The announcement marks a turning point for the 205-year-old firearm maker, which was founded in 1816. Remington Firearms was purchased by Roundhill Group investors after bankruptcy proceedings last year. Production of the flagship rifles and shotguns resumed at the Ilion, N.Y., factory and will continue with plans to continue growing the workforce there.

Remington Firearms plans to move equipment that was located at the former Huntsville, Ala., location to the new headquarters in La Grange. Production in Georgia will include firearm models not currently made in the Ilion factory.

“Ghost Gun” Threat Over Hyped

From Bearing Arms:

So-called “ghost guns” are really just any firearm that’s created without a serial number. Making such weapons isn’t illegal. It’s not even illegal in many places that have supposedly banned these kinds of weapons–mostly because the bans only impact kits and not the act itself. Making a firearm yourself is something that a lot of Americans enjoy.

Yet some people are completely uncomfortable with the idea that someone could build a firearm and not have to get permission from the government to do so.

Six Takeaways From The NY Gun Case

From The Federalist:

While New York conceded the Second Amendment applies beyond one’s threshold, Solicitor General Barbara Underwood quickly forgot that the Bill of Rights protects rights—it doesn’t define privileges. For instance, in discussing the regulation of firearms outside the home, Underwood started to say that “these regulations are all an effort to accommodate the right,” but then backtracked, saying the regulations seek to “respect the right of self-defense.”

The slip of the tongue was telling, however: It means New York state doesn’t truly view the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms as a right, but as a privilege it will accommodate — when governmental officials deem it appropriate.

Biden Admin Stockpiling Gun Owner Info

From The Washington Free Beacon:

The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government’s hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Mom Schools Reporter On Guns

From The Federalist:

“Do we really want a whole bunch of Cheryls running around with pistols in the grocery store?” Dwyer asked.

“Yeah, we probably do because Cheryl is trained,” Apple replied indignantly. “I feel proficient with my weapon, I feel secure with my weapon, and I feel confident with my weapon. I don’t think the Cheryls are the one[s] out there that are hurting people and committing the crimes and being unsafe with their guns.”
