Guns Sold By DC Police Found At Crimes

From Bearing Arms:

That much was reported at the time, but now the News4 I-Team has the federal documents proving a concerning number of guns the Metropolitan Police Department helped bring into the District ended up at crime scenes. So many guns recovered at crime scenes, in such a brief period, that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives placed D.C. police into a program designed to give extra scrutiny to dealers with higher levels of so-called crime guns.

Media Ignore AP Style Guide Rule About Guns

Back on July 14, 2022, even Alan Gottlieb at the Second Amendment Foundation expressed appreciation that the AP, which produces what is essentially the “bible” of the media—the Associated Press Stylebook—stated, “It’s about time the media realized the terms ‘assault rifle’ and ‘assault weapon’ are inflammatory and meaningless. Those terms have become part of the gun prohibition lobby’s lexicon, and unfortunately, journalists across the country have been all-too-willing to adopt their vocabulary and repeatedly use it in their reports.”

DOJ Sets Up Federal “Red Flag” Center, Usurping Congress

From Guns.com:

The Center was announced on Saturday in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the latter of which earned its “Bloomberg” in 2001 following nearly $3 billion in donations from gun control advocate Michael Bloomberg. Funded by a DOJ grant, a public-facing website developed for the center offers an easy-to-use interface to help those curious navigate the process to obtain a “red flag” gun seizure order in 21 states and the District of Columbia, typically within two or three clicks from the homepage.

Gun Banners Plan To Insert Propaganda Into TV/Film

From Ammoland:

“This approach of utilizing the entertainment industry to model safe practices is one of the successes of ‘Show Gun Safety,’ a campaign launched by the advocacy group Brady United, which is now partnering with television studios across the country,” a one-sided CNN publicity piece masked as news promotes.

The Answer To Terrorism Is More Armed Citizens

From Ammoland:

Wray’s warning, however, was dire. He told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that known or suspected terrorists were infiltrating the country across the wide-open southern border using counterfeit documents. One of the smuggling networks, he said, has ties to ISIS. Add to this the thousands of unknown border crossers from countries that hate us and the more than 80,000 military-age males from China, and you have a terrorist hellbroth just waiting to bubble over.

We should thank Director Wray for his timely information and for his candor. This is precisely why we have fought so long and so hard to restore our Second Amendment rights so that law-abiding Americans no longer have to bend a knee and beg the Crown to sell them back their constitutional rights in the form of a permit to carry defensive arms. Constitutional carry levels the playing field, making it easier for the good guys and gals to lawfully carry arms.

Anti Gun Group Now Targeting NSSF

From Bearing Arms:

“Luckily, we at Brady know how to fight the NSSF because we’ve been fighting the NRA for years, and we’re seeing the disgraceful end of their organization play out because of our dedicated work. We may know their tricks, but we’re going to need all the support we can get if we’re going to overcome another extremist gun lobby group, and that’s why I’m reaching out today,” reads the email written under the name Kris Brown, President of Brady.

ATF Inspector Violated Their Authority To Deny Gun Purchase

From The Truth About Guns:

In a small, but significant example of more government overreach, an ATF Industry Operations Investigator violated the Second Amendment rights of a central Florida man last month when he ordered a gun dealer to halt a pistol sale because he believed the purchaser possibly smelled of marijuana.

Anti-Gun Senator Cornyn Should Not Be Senate Leader

From Bearing Arms:

Sen. John Cornyn handed the Biden administration a huge win by working with the White House to pass the Safter Communities Act. He went against his party’s usual stand on gun control and managed to spearhead an effort to get it passed in the Senate, which had been where gun control went to die.

LaPierre Squandered Millions While Neglecting Gun Rights

From Ammoland:

Former CEO of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre, has finally admitted virtually everything that he’s been accused of over the past five years, and a jury has found him liable for padding his own pockets to the tune of $5.5 million.

LaPierre’s hand-picked Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, Woody Phillips was also found liable for $2 million in personal profit at NRA members’ expense, and the NRA itself (really the NRA’s current Board of Directors) was found to have failed in its fiduciary obligations to shepherd and safeguard the members’ assets. Keep in mind that none of this really takes into account the millions paid to “consultants” with nothing of substance to show for it, or the hundreds of millions spent on lawyers and the losses in membership and revenue over the past five years.

Rep Jordan Wants Answers To New ATF Rule “Engaged in the business”

From Bearing Arms:

Cleveland.com was the first to report on Jordan’s letter, which requests that Dettelbach provide the information Jordan is asking for by March 14. Jordan also wants details from Dettelbach on how the agency plans to enforce its proposed rule once it’s been formally adopted; information that’s vitally important to any gun owner who might choose to sell a firearm from their personal collection, given that the language of the rule could force almost every private seller to either become a federally licensed firearm dealer or use an FFL to conduct a background check before proceeding with the sale.

New Book By ATF Whistleblower On Fast and Furious

From Ammoland:

The book holds a special interest for me. As the “blogger” who, along with the late citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh, first reported on the connection between the slaying of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “walking” guns to Mexico, Forcelli was one of the subjects of our reporting.

In The Deadly Path, Forcelli reintroduces us to many of the other characters and scenarios we covered in our attempts to get corporate media and Congress to investigate for themselves.

The Atlantic Admits “Buybacks” Don’t Work; Is This a Prelude To Confiscation?

From The Atlantic:

Gun policy is a famously impossible problem in contemporary America. Any ideas that might actually reduce gun violence are stymied by political division or struck down by courts. Gun buybacks are the only form of gun control that both gun opponents and gun supporters like. There’s just one problem: They don’t work. Scholars have tried for years to quantify the benefit of buybacks, and they’ve consistently found little empirical evidence that they do much of anything to reduce gun violence at all.
