2A Sanctuary Movement Across The US
From Ammoland:
Democrats first established cafeteria-style law enforcement with their immigration sanctuary cities. Now, that same issue of local control was used to protect the right of self-defense.
What started in Illinois didn’t stay in Illinois. The second-amendment-sanctuary movement spread over the next few years from Illinois to Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and to Texas. Bloomberg’s takeover of Virginia accelerated the second amendment sanctuary movement. In the three months since last November’s election, 91 of Virginia’s 95 counties passed 2A sanctuary resolutions. Some cities in Virginia did so as well. A few counties established militia that the sheriff could activate in case of emergency.
Louisiana Constitutional Carry
From Ammoland:
House Bill number 72 is the “Louisiana Constitutional Carry Act of 2020.â€Â H.B. 72 says that you may carry a concealed firearm unless you are a prohibited person under state and federal law. This is commonly called constitutional carry or permitless carry. In short, if it was legal for you to get a permit and carry in public then the bill allows you to carry in public. If it was illegal for you to carry in public, then it remains illegal for you to carry in public.
George Washington: Illegal Militia Founder
From Reason:
Without formal legal authorization, even from the Continental Congress, Americans began to form independent militias, outside the traditional chain of command of the royal governors. In February 1775, George Washington and George Mason organized the Fairfax Independent Militia Company.
Harriet Film Review
From Independent Institute:
One of the most overlooked movies of 2019 may have been Harriet, the historical drama about American fugitive slave Harriet Tubman. The movie breathes long overdue life into Tubman’s heroic efforts to rescue her family and others from slavery. Indeed, she may be one of the most underappreciated heroines of American liberty.
Supreme Court Urged To Review Red Flag Ruling
From California Gun Rights Foundation:
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 21, 2020) — Today, attorneys for California Gun Rights Foundation, Second Amendment Foundation, and a California resident filed a petition at the U.S. Supreme Court seeking review of an improperly decided Ninth Circuit ruling. The recent case filings in Rodriguez v. San Jose can be viewed at www.cagunrights.org/work.
Changing Attitudes Towards Firearms
From Bearing Arms:
“No one should have that many firearms,†the man said. My question is, why not? What’s wrong with having a large number of firearms? I’m not suddenly more dangerous because I have 12 guns than I was when I had 11. I can only fire so many at a time.
Safe Passage Bill Introduced
From The Truth About Guns:
So long as you are passing through and not committing some other crime, you are covered under Brooks’ bill, thanks to the interaction of the new definition of “transport†and the “crime other than the violation†clause.
Gun Control Toolkit Leaked
From Ammoland:
“This document,†noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, “raises alarms because there’s a lot in it about taking someone’s guns, but only two paragraphs about returning firearms to their rightful owner.â€
Saudi Intelligence Infiltrated Twitter
From Buzzfeed:
Alzabarah and Ahmad Abouammo, a colleague on Twitter’s global media team, regularly accessed and delivered information that could’ve led Saudi intelligence to identify anonymous dissidents. While news of the allegations against them has been public since November 2019, the extent of their roles and abilities inside the company have never previously been reported. Alzabarah, Abouammo, and al-Asaker did not respond to requests for comment.
How Dangerous Are AR-15s?
From FEE:
If we take the time to look at the raw data provided by the FBI, we find that all rifles, not just “assault-style rifles,†constitute on average 340 homicides per year from 2007 through 2017 (see Figure 1.). When we adjust these numbers to take under-reporting into account, that number rises to an average of 439 per year.
In any given year, for every person murdered with a rifle, there are 15 murdered with handguns, 1.7 with hands or fists, and 1.2 with blunt instruments. In fact, homicides with any sort of rifle represent a mere 3.2 percent of all homicides on average over the past decade.
The Guardian Freaks Out Over Virginia Protests
From The Guardian:
But the pledge sparked a grassroots pro-gun movement whose size and intensity has surprised even longtime activists. In dozens of towns and counties, pro-gun Virginians have flooded local government meetings to oppose the new bills and to demand that their lawmakers pass “second amendment sanctuary†resolutions, which promise that local governments will not enforce state gun laws they see as unconstitutional.

On average, 118,000 people in France say they were victims of some sort of violent crime involving an attacker who they were not living with such as assaults in public areas, schools, nightclubs, and other venues, Le Figaro reports.
