Hunter Biden Verdict Splits Gun Community

The case has led to an interesting split of opinions among gun rights advocates. Figures like Eric Blandford and CJ Grisham argue the law used against Biden is unconstitutional and that his prosecution sets a dangerous precedent for gun owners. They admit they face pushback from conservative circles, where supporting Biden is seen as controversial. Blandford explains, “Of course, people are going to say, ‘Why do you support Hunter Biden? He’s the enemy.’”
In contrast, the NRA supports Biden’s prosecution, stating it exemplifies the need for firearm prohibitions for drug users. Supreme Court Rahimi Decision More Important With Trump Conviction

I think there’s an incredibly strong change that Trump’s conviction will be thrown out on appeal, but that could still be years away. In the meantime, the Supreme Court is probably Trump’s best bet to keep his Second Amendment rights intact, and the Court’s impeding decision in U.S. v. Rahimi provides a perfect vehicle for the justices to give Trump and others convicted of non-violent felonies relief from current federal law.
In Rahimi, the justices are expected to decide whether someone subject to a domestic violence restraining order can be prohibited from possessing or purchasing a firearm. We don’t know how the Court will rule, but it’s certainly not out of the question that a majority will conclude that Zachey Rahimi and others in similar circumstances can be barred from owning a gun; not solely because of a domestic violence restraining order, but based on a particularized finding of “dangerousness”.
Biden Says He Won’t Pardon Hunter On Gun Charge

Asked if he would accept the outcome of his son’s trial, which is currently ongoing in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden said, “yes.” He followed up with another “yes” when asked if he would rule out a pardon for his son, should he be found guilty. The younger Biden is facing federal gun charges.
The Gun Rights Implications Of Trump’s Guilty Verdict

With 34 felony convictions being delivered to President Donald J. Trump Thursday afternoon by a New York jury—in what is questionably a rigged trial and unquestionably a politically motivated trial—there remain a number of questions on what will actually happen next and how it will play out. One thing that is not in question, at least until a successful appeal is decided on, is that Trump is now barred from owning or possessing firearms.

Bank of America Reverses Stance On Gun Investments

Bank of America Corp. is loosening restrictions on lending to the firearms and energy industries amid pressure from anti-ESG politicians in Texas and Florida.
The bank backed off its ban on lending to companies that make assault-style guns used for non-military purposes. Rather, the firm will make such decisions on a case-by-case basis with senior risk officers, according to its latest environmental and social risk policy framework. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank also made similar changes to its energy lending policies – it no longer has a blanket ban on financing for Arctic drilling.
Rep Massie Takes ATF Head To Task

Rep. Masse was referencing an interview that Mr. Dettelbach did with CBS’s “60 Minutes.” It was the same interview where the ATF’s firearms “expert” could not disassemble or assemble a Glock pistol. In the interview, Dettelbach pointed out that someone could buy a Barrett .50 cal in cash. He said that FFLs should report cash purchases to the ATF. Many in the gun community took issue with this statement because it is not illegal to buy firearms with cash, and in many cases, gun owners prefer to use cash, especially since programs such as “Operation Choke Point” exist.
Texas Senator Cornyn Flails While Trying To Hold On To Power

“Cornyn, Tillis, Colleagues Introduce Resolution to Block Unconstitutional Biden ATF Rule,” a Wednesday press release announces. Their intent is to “to strike down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) rule on the definition of ‘Engaged in the Business’ as a Dealer in Firearms, which ignores the law and congressional intent and flagrantly violates the Constitution to try to require anyone who sells a firearm to register as a federal firearm licensee.”
Well, who signed on to the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, giving Joe Biden’s ATF and its Democrat, media, and citizen disarmament lobby allies all the cover they needed to overreach and impose? How can veterans John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, and other Republican “Vichycons” — who gave the antis the votes they needed — possibly claim to be surprised that enemies of the right of the people to keep and bear arms won’t stretch any inch given into a mile and then some? What did they think Chris Murphy had in mind, fast-tracking a bill after the high-profile Uvalde school massacre (where a maniac took predictable advantage of a “gun-free zone” while cops dithered in the hall for 78 minutes)?
Is The NRA Worth Saving?
