NY AG Targeting Accessory Manufacturers

From Ammoland:

New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken legal action against Mean Arms, a Georgia-based gun accessory manufacturer, for their alleged involvement in the illegal possession of assault weapons in New York. The lawsuit follows the tragic incident in Buffalo, where a shooter used Mean Arms’ magazine lock, known as the MA Lock, to replace magazines in his AR-15 and carried out a mass shooting that claimed the lives of 10 individuals.

Blue States See Civilian Gun Ranges As A Threat

From The Truth About Guns:

After municipal and environmental laws failed, town officials approached Vermont State Senator Phillip Baruth for help. He quickly sponsored a bill making it a felony to operate a “paramilitary training camp” within the state.

Baruth, a liberal Democrat from Burlington, admitted he introduced the bill after Pawlet officials complained there was no state law that they could use to force Banyai to shutter his private ranges on his private property.

Two Mass Murders, But The Media Only Cares About One

From The Truth About Guns:

The story is already disappearing from legacy media newscasts and websites. There were no protests, marches or calls to ban Range Rovers or other SUVs. No one filed suit against Land Rover or organized a boycott. No one from the White House went blood-dancing at the scene. The 24-7 coverage that normally follows a mass killing involving a firearm never materialized, because as horrific as it was, the Brownsville killings did not fit the legacy media’s mass-murder narrative, for several reasons.

Young Adults Continue To Be Denied Full Gun Rights

From Ammoland:

As a result of the passage of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) of 2022, the NICS Section has been working towards the implementation of an enhanced background check process for persons between the ages of 18-20.

The enhancement provides the opportunity for additional outreach and research to be conducted regarding the existence of any juvenile adjudication information and/or mental health prohibition. As a result, transactions on persons between the ages of 18-20 will initially be delayed allowing for the additional outreach. To conduct this outreach and research, the address of the individual will be collected so that the appropriate local law enforcement entities may be contacted.

Texas Court Says ATF Doesn’t Have Authority To Redefine Firearm

From Ammoland:

On September 2, 2022, the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, issued an Opinion and Order granting a preliminary injunction, in part, on the ATF “Final Rule” which radically changed the decades-long definition of what is a firearm in federal law.  The opinion explains that ATF created the longstanding definition of what a firearm is in 1978. Now, over forty years later, they are updating and expanding the definition into new areas.

Biden’s Schizophrenic Gun Policies

From Bearing Arms:

The lesson that most of the radical left seems to be missing when it comes to the war in Ukraine, the alleged war crimes, and any possible cure people may get, is that there’s a whole lot of precaution that could have been exercised to stave off such an invasion. Conceivably, the “supermarket” status of Ukraine’s black market arms cache is what can be attributed to some of the level of “success”  the Ukrainians have in keeping Russian forces somewhat at bay.

The disarmament policies of the Biden-Harris administration, inclusive of their Department of Justice, are exactly what’s needed to create a population that’s ripe for being rolled over by tanks. If Garland and the rest of the swamp critters were really genuine, they’d look inward and say “Ya know, we don’t want this happening here, so perhaps it’s best to arm and train our people.” No such utterance would come from the party of civil-liberty usurpation.

UPS Continues Its Attack On The Gun Industry

From Ammoland:

UPS has stepped up its anti-gun campaign by requiring online sellers to ship an average of 50 handguns daily to use its 2nd Day Air service.

Sellers who do not ship at least 350 handguns a week risk losing their shipping accounts. Under the new agreement, UPS is only required to give customers a ten-day notice before cutting them off from the shipping service. The volume necessary means that most online retailers and manufacturers are now cut off from shipping guns through the carrier unless the handgun is shipped using the expensive Next Day Air service.

Missouri Refuses To Give FBI Concealed Carrier Info

From The Truth About Guns:

On July 13, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt issued a press release indicating that Missouri learned that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is “planning to travel to Missouri in August to do ‘audits’ at sheriff departments across the state.” According to AG Schmitt, the FBI specifically intends to “harvest information on those who have legally obtained a concealed carry permit.” The FBI innocuously calls it an “onsite review of [the counties’] Concealed Carry Weapons Permits…”

ATF Can’t Backup “Ghost Gun” Claims

From Ammoland:

For example, one senior ATF official – Carlos A. Canino, former Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the ATF’s Los Angeles Field Division – can be credited for jumpstarting the war on homemade firearms, so it is especially important to verify everything he has said. After all, last year the ATF announced notice of proposed rulemaking that could regulate many of the core components of homemade firearms. To be clear, Canino’s quotes caused all of this.

In a lengthy email chain yesterday, I asked Longnecker to verify Canino’s comments and to add some context. Specifically, how many firearms did ATF’s Los Angeles Field Division seize? Did the 41% constitute five or six homemade firearms or were there hundreds or thousands.

To be clear, Longnecker was unable to verify Canino’s statement or add any context.

“I contacted the Los Angeles Field Division earlier today after your initial email, and their Public Information Officer was unable to verify any figures provided in 2019 by former-SAC Canino without knowing the time-period(s) he used for his comments,” Longnecker said in the email. “For that reason, we rely on verifiable data generally documented on our website or obtained through a FOIA request.”

9th Circuit Declares Mag Ban Unconstitutional

From Sacramento CBS:

“Even well-intentioned laws must pass constitutional muster,” appellate Judge Kenneth Lee wrote for the panel’s majority. California’s ban on magazines holding more than 10 bullets “strikes at the core of the Second Amendment – the right to armed self-defense.”

Academy Sports Caves to Pressure from Liberals, Pulls AR-15s

Academy Sports needs to show some backbone.

They’re a Texas family-owned company, I heard online that they were pulling ARs off the shelves under pressure from the Left, and I went to one in Arlington Texas to see for myself.

Yep, they pulled all their AR-15s from the display.

I talked to the manager, I was calm and polite, but I said, “You’re a Texas company. You have a responsibility to your customers, to Texas and to America. Show a little backbone. Don’t just cave at the first bit of pressure. I have six kids. I used to buy shoes and clothes here for my family. I’ll be shopping elsewhere. Please relay this message to those in charge.”

The manager said, “Well, we still sell ARs …”

Right.

Katie Couric Performs Daily Show Edit In New “Documentary”

From Ammoland:

Watching the video, you hear Katie ask, “If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorist from walking into, say, a licensed gun dealer and purchasing a gun?” The camera then shows the group members TOTALLY SILENT FOR EIGHT SECONDS. The camera zooms in on one member, who looks down.

The clear implication is that none of the group had an answer for that question and was being evasive and avoiding eye contact.

The truth is, and as you will hear in the audio, below, that the group responded to Katie immediately, with answers to her question! Yet the video shows no one responding. Clearly, when Katie didn’t get the answer(s) she wanted, she changed the group’s answers by replacing them with other video of the group sitting around quietly between questions.

Judge Rules In Favor Of Gun Rights On Behalf Of Gay Group

From LGBTQ Nation:

The group, which advocates for gay Americans to carry firearms, just won a major victory on Tuesday: a federal judge in Washington halted enforcement of a portion of the city’s strict gun law, ordering Washington DC police to stop requiring residents to demonstrate they have “a good reason to fear injury,” which he ruled places “an unconstitutional burden” on citizens’ right to bear arms.
